ENGLISH. London, March 19. The Court of Appeal has directed the release of Mrs Jackson, who was abducted by her husband last week. The Judges described the husband's conduct as cruel and brutal. The Government of the Argentine Republic has admitted its inability to remit the interest now due on two of its loans, March 20. The Crown mines, New Zealand, are being re-constructed with a capital of L75,a00. The Cumming case has been marked urgent for Monday. Lord Knutsford has introduced a Bill to enable the Imperial Government to secure a modus vivendi with regard to the Newfoundland fisheries, despite the refusal of the local Government to consent to arbitration or give effect to the award of the arbi trators. The measure was read a first time to-day. The mode oE coercion is causing some excitement in the colony.
The Newfoundland Bill introduced by Lord Knutsford, gives Naval officers supreme authority over property along the coast and adjacent waters.
The Parnellite press seeks to excuse the necessity of Mr Parnell resigning his seat for Cork by alleging that Mr Healey's response is offensive. Mr Parnell is not likely to resign his seat for Cork but the seceders are making preparations for a fight. FOREIGN. Washington, March 20. The President threatens to close American ports against German imports unless the embargo on American pork ia removed. It is stated the leading Italians in New Orleans endorse the lynching of the Sicilians. * The Italian Consul advises patience, and to wait for the Italian Government to act.
