Masterton. Sac* Racing Club
A meeting of the Stewards of the Magterton Hack Raoing Club was held in the Club Hotel on Saturday evening last, Mr E. H. Waddington occupying the chair. The Secretary read telegrams from the Metropolitan Racing Club, refusing to pass the programme for the St Patrick's D,ay meeting, and declining to give for so doing. iW following resolution was carried, on the motion of Mi' R. Campbell, seconded by Mr Hawke :—"That in consequence of the action of the Metropolitan Club in refusing to pass the programme, tbis Club resolven not to hold a meeting as proposed on St Patrick's Day, but recommends the MaqtertonOpaki Jockey Club tg iio.lcj ft meeting 9# tfc&t fW "" •
Masterton Qp&i Jockey 01uTj. A meeting of members of the Mas-tertoD-Opuki Jockey Club was subsequently held in the Club Hotel, Mr T. G. Mason, in the absence of the President, occupying the chair. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The report of the meeting of the Hack Racing Club was also read. The Chairman intimated that the j meeting had been called to consider the financial position of the Club, in view of the recommendation of the Hack Racing Club to hold a meeting on St. Patrick's Day. The CJnb would have to give stakes amounting to £250. After a lengthy discussion Mr Henderson moved, " That a meeting of Stewards be held on Wednesday next Feb. 18, to consider the financial position of the Club and the advisability of holding a meeting on St. Patrick's Day, and that this meeting adjourns sine die." Mr R. Campbell seconded. Carried, The proceedings then terminated.
