The usual monthly meeting of the above was held at the Boad Board office on Saturday, July 19 r . PresentMessrs Matheson'(chairman), Neilson, A'ndorson'i'Eogden, and IJowsett, "The minutes'of tlie previous meeting were read and confirmed. ' ;

Beard, re Hounslow's estate, notifying that ho had paid ovor to the official assignee the sum of £7B, From same, re appropriating funds of Parkyille Loan'tqwa'rds payraehtof case, re Bryant, It "was' de'eiued' fhat the money cannot be ' tak'onfrom tho loan.' From F. (Moore, Oouiity Olork, re taking'over roads,'stating that.the county can take 119 action in tho matter before a petition in favour js forwarded by the ratepayers and signed by'tbreejnths.qf thesamo. ' ' , '
I A lpiigthy discussion ensued on sho subject. Mr Bennot thought that unless they could : get a. County -formed it would be better to remain as at present. Mr Anderson mentioned that the riding was 1 !!QW paying to tho County £4OO per year and there was'., only; about £2OO spent on the roads.; There was very little traffio from Eketa'huha.to Hetty's. The road was in good ; bfd'c)f, m tjjat there was only seven Wiles of: Alfredfon road and seven mileß 'of Pahiatua road to maintain, It was 'evenually decided that as the petition re audits of accounts was hot settled it would be better to let the matter stand over for it month. Mr Anderson wanted to know Avhat'action tho Board had taken to- further- the viewß of the publjc'ineetingbelda'short time Wo.'' Resolved that the' Board at ita next meeting, to be held on the 16th day of August, 1890, levy a sjenoral rata of three farthings hi: the pound'on all rateable property in the Eketahuna Road Diatriot,
Resolyed that Mr Parsons' payraeut bo held over till Chisholm's signature bo obtained to tho transfer of contract.
Tho following tenders were received for the bridgo at Parkville over the Deep Greek i-J, McDoiwld, £231 and ! £275; J. Dawson, £216 and 1256 j Woolf and MoFarlane, 1209 j J. Juspersun, £302. The Board decided to hold over Woolf 'a and Da\, son's tenders for one month, For road formation contract JSo 14, Mr R. Brett's tender was excepted at £189; road formation No 15, D, Shßhyn',.i!l44, accopted; stumping and clearing Hutt Special Settlement No 1, Woolf and McFarlano, £6O, accepted, The following accounts passscd for payment,-Payton and Co., £4l7s 3d : Colonial Treasurer,, 1222 8s Cd; W. Bayliss, i gissjQ..W.(lould I f34s2d; W.G, Beard, £22O;T, Parsons,£Go; W. Woolf, £4O; J. King, £l9los9d; J. King, £4lßs lOd; \Y, Woolf. £l3 19s6d.
Thexash ceodit balance was shown as L 1261; loan balance, L 87135,' ordinary credit account, L 39175.
It was rosolved that Mr Dowsett be authorised to: spend the sum of L 3 on a road in tho Wellington Special Settlemont, No, 1, Mr Tiramins waited on tho Board and stated that he had thrown a tree actoss the road on purposo, to test the liability of the Board, and thoreforo lie defied the Board to tako action in the matter. Ho merely wished, to tako tho action in a friendly manner, and stated ho would pay half the law cost in tho case. Mr Anderson thought Mr Tinimins bad taken an unwise action, The meeting then adjourned.
