MAURICEVILLE ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday, 28th June. Present -Messrs G Gtinderson (Chairman), H W Jackson, J Jepsen, C Forsborg, and S M Drew,
The minutes of tho previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence inwards: From County Cferk re Eangitumau district; from P C Frasi re loan for same; from Thomas Price ro tramway ;from R M Galloway requesting the name of George Coe be inserted in the rate book instead of his own;from J tiraham requesting the nameof Henry Eagle be inserted in the rate book instead of his own; from M Nielsen leques ing to be struck off the rate look inrespeot to property belonging to Ms "ihrmiissen; from Land Office IB thirds; from Mr G Boetham re same; from C Tait re cheque; from J Youngson re account, from H M Bannister re tracings; from Alex. McLeod re rates; from A R Mackay re road; from A J Rawson re survoy. ' Four applications were received for the office of clerk;
Besolved to provisionally appoint Mr Gray as clerk to the Board. Mi' Drew was authorised to apply to the Masterton Eoad Board for all books belonging to the late Kangituuiau Eoad Board.
Resolved, to grant the applications of Messrs Galloway, Graham, and Nielsen, Besolved, tbatunless satisfactory reply be received from Mr Marchant with regard to Deferred Payment thirds on or before July sth, 1890, immediate s,teps will be taken to cause a parliamentary enquiry into the matter. Resolved, to sue all persons in arrear with rates if same are I not payed by July 2nd next, Notice of motion to' given that & general rate of three farthings hi the £ be , struck at noxtmeotag. ■ Tiie Chairman and Mr Foraberg, the Committee appointed to meet the Eketahuna Road Board in order to adjust aocounts reported the result was the Eketahuna Board would hand over the sum of £SB 4s lid, being thirds reoeived, and ill 6s 6d,thirds accrued, and the Mauriceville Board would hand over accrued thirds amounting to £loßl2s The collector reported having received since last meeting the Bum of £1916s 7d.
The Treasurer reported a credit balance of £ll6 Os GJd. Accounts amounting to £72 10a were passed for payment. Messrs Jepsen and Drew were appointed to sign cheques. The meeting then adjournad.
