Whareama Road Board.
Tho ordinary mooting of the Board was held on Friday at Carswcll's Blairlogio Junction. Present: Messrs H, Elder (chairman), E, Meredith, B.R. Meredith, 6. Moore and H, Toogood, The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Outward and inward correspondence was read. Tho following resolutions were carried i—That tho Carterton Board be informed in reply to their letter that this board is willing to lay off tho road indicated so soon as tho consent of tho owners of the land required is obtained, That the consideration of Mr Tatham's application for the expenditure of £lO, be postponed till tho claim made by the Masterton Board has been disposed of. That Mr Toogood be authorised to employ a man to clear slips and otherwise put tho road in repair between Kohiwai and Waihora, such repairs not to exceed an expenditure of £5. That a sum of £5 bo expended forthwith iu clearing out tho wator tables and filling ruts between Kohiwai and Messrs Moore and Hitchings' boundary gate under the supervision of tho warden. That the cleric ho instructed to apply to the Audit Department for a copy of tho report furnished to Parliament on tho application of Mr Buchanan M.H.R, with reference to an alleged misapplication of loan monies by the Wharcama Boad Board, That this Board desires to express sinporo regret in the loss sustained by the district in tho rocent decease of Mr John Morrison, and its sympathy with Mrs Morrison in her bereavement. That ponding the opinion of Mr Bunny, Messrs Elder and E, Meredith are empowered to use their discretion in protecting tho interests of the Board iu the matter of claim stt up by the Masterton Road Board. Accounts amounting to £2l Is were passed for- payment,'and the meeting adjourned till Friday, 29th November.
