The following report was read and adopted,—The year which has just passed, being the eleventh which tho brigade has been in existence lias been one of quietness as regards fires, only six taking place during tho past twelve months, and none of those proving of a very serious nature. During the past torm there has been forty-seven roll calls as follows: Meetings twenty-six; chimney fires fourteen; fires six; false alarui ono; average attendance fifteen, Alarms on account of chimney fires have been perhaps more numerous than usual during the past year, and have been a cause of great annoyame to tho members, nevertheless the members liavo turned out with promptitude when oalled upon, The property of the brigado has been greatly increased during the past term by the addition of two hundred and sixty feet of canvas hose, twelve feet of suction hose, and at the present time the brigade is negotiating for a hose reel for which tho Town Lands Trust very liberally voted the sum of ten pounds (£10). Tho whole of the members have been provided with uniforms, and those entitled have received certificates and long service medals. The public have been called upon to contribute towards tho Brigado during the past term, and considering the. dull times have responded most liberally, tho sum of sixteen pounds being collected, together with the proceeds of the Brigade's annual ball held last month leaves a good balance to start next year's transaction. In conclusion the Brigade is to be congratulated on the position to which it has attained, and its officers by thoir long service and regular attendance and kindness to those under them, show that they are determined to make tho brigado as efficient as it is possible, Receipts,
