PARLIAMENTARY.
In the Legislative Council on Thursday too Law of Libel Bill was committed and reported with several amendments.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES In answer to questions it was stated that it was intended to bring in a Bill to enable adjoining Road Boards and other local bodies to erect bridges, The Government would do all they could to enforce the compulsory clauses of tho Education Act, but tho matter was one for the Education Boards,
The motion for the second reading of the Auctioneer Bill was carried,
The Licensing Act Amendmeut Bill, the object of which is to enable married women to hold licenses was read a second time; also the C'alifornian Thistle Eradication Bill.
The Registration of Births Extension Bill was read a third time and passed.
The Dog Registration Act Amendment Bill, which provides that a shepherd or driver of sheep or cattle may have four dogs registered for 2s 6d each, and that on dogs used exclusively for rabbiting purposes a fee of a shilling each shall be paid, was read a second time, and the House rose at 10.40 p.m.
