Chmstchuscii, July 11. About 150 representative citizens entertained at tho Chamber of Commerce this evening Mr John Cook, who is about to leave Christchurch for Melbourne. Mr Cook received a handsome present from the employees of the Loan and Mercantile Agency Company.
Mr F, do C. Malet was re-elected chairman of the Board of Governors of tho Canterbury College. Altogether, 807 entries have been received for the poultry show, beside birds for exhibition." The Christchurch Society has only twice previously exceeded 700 exhibits.
