Castlenoint Road Board.
A meeting of the Board was held oil Saturday last. Present: Messrs Andrew, Elder and Langdon. In the absence of Mr Mannscll, Mr Andrew was voted to the chair. The minutos of tho previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Treasurer's report showed a balance in bank ot £357 2s Id, Correspondence was read from Piihiatua County Council requesting co-operation in the mattorof petitioning the Minister of Lands to around the Land Act in respect to deferred paymont thirds. From County Clerk re'the indebted stato of the Castlepoint riding, and pointing out the only way of reducing-tho debt will bo by the Board contributing from its funds or by special rate over the riding. Fiom Upper Taueru Road Board applying for payment of 80s, voted for opening a track from Upper Taueru Road via Mungapurupuru to Mr Nicholls* ■ property, From MiBeard applying for payment of LSO, for Black hill road, aud also LI 10 for road to Rowe Rewc, From Property Tax Commissioner with rate roll. From Mr John Matthews re rates due on his proporty, From the Clerk of works re metalling the road near the Tinui Hotel. Resolyed that tho amounts for the Blackhill road and tho road to ttewe Rewe be forwarded to Mr Beard, That tho Clerk of works endeavor to get the road rcmetailed near the Tinui hotel. That the special order making a special rate of l-20th of a penny in the pound on certain properties in the district bo confirmed, That Mr McKenzio having closed tho gates in use on tbo road to lea the Board will tako steps to open the surveyed line, That a general rate of 3-lGtiis of li penny in the pound bo made for the current year, :
