Mo then • burst open the door of the chapel and broke some vases on the altar, ' and damaged some of thecandlosticks, The Mother Superior had to escape through a window on to the roof of a lean to. Two neighbors at length arrived and secured Ryan until the arrival of tho police, The total damage is estimated at Lll 15s, The rigging with which the Dart was fitted whilst in Auckland Qock,_ and which is now said to bo was procured from tho Naval store at Devenport, and was set up by the Dart's crew. No blame can therefore be attached to tho contractor for the repairs to the vessel,
