Our Carterton correspondent writes: —There have boen some rather mystmious doings during the last few days amongst sheep. On Sunday, a flockowner at Clareville reported to the Constable-that he. had lost some shoep. The Constable at once proceeded on the warpath, and found the missing Bheep safely lodged in a slaughteihouse yard down Park Road. Ho at onco interviewed the owner of the yard as to how they (the missing sheep) came there; tut the owner of the yard, disowned any knowlodge of the animals, or how thoy oome to bo in his yard.
