Carterton v. Masterton. The Championship match between theso teams was played on the Park j.\ Oval on Saturday afternoon, and as JA far as it has gone is decidedly in . favor tho Carterton eleven. The . Oarterton men wont in first and . topped the century before they were werodisposedofby Pownall and P.erry . The change of bowling on tho Masterton side was rather limited owing to Igguldon having met withan accident and McKenzie being absent, Leeks ; put together 80, .Baigent 19, and •Nioholson 18, Masterton then went in :, ; in but made little stand tundling of Connell and Moore (not out) 17, and Whatman 11 ■. being fop scorers. The follow on was narrowly... missed and Cartorton went in for their sejond innings and had still four wiokets to fall when r time was called. Acocks made 22 1 (not out) and King 18.
