It therefore lays with the Mayor and Councillors) to procure tho proper doeds, and seo that the street was carried through. This, however, they failed to do, and the consequence is that the property has fallen into the hands of tho mortgagee, who, to test tho case, has erected a fenco at its northern end. Tho owner of the property has taken this stop in order to get tho Council to buy the street again, but by sodomg ho has not only decreased the value of his own land, but also the property throughout the street. Albert and Villa .Streets are shown to be connected 011 the plan of Mastorton, and the property-holders and residents should certainly take steps to see that it is done.
