Prom Mr Chapman, olFering to paint the two new bridges for £4. The following resolutions wero passed That the Chairman get all informatioli for re-painting the bridges, and report at next meeting, That the Chairman meet Mr Mackay on his ground, see into the matter, and report at next meeting. That the consideration of A, Wilton's letter be postponed. That J. Wingate be granted 3Gs to finish his work That the Engineer's account bo passed for payment. An account was read from Smith and Hogg, Resolved that the Cleric be instructed to write asking for particulars and to ask what reduction they intend to make. Accjfets possedfor payment: J. Pay ton £ 12s Gd j Andrew Wyllio £4 3s 3d ; Caselberg &Co 3s Gd; J&des &Co £4. Resolved that cheques for due to Gardiner & Co, and J. McOfizie bo made out. The Clerk was instructed to write for all rates not yet paid, If not paid bofore 30th June summonses to bo issued, Resolved that the Engineer be authorised to lay off the Mungaroe cutting 11ft wide and give an estimate of the cost. Resolved that fresh applications for the office of roadman be called, the man to findhii&elf in house, tools and all requisites and necessaries. References required from Public Bodies. Applications to be sent in by Saturday, 16th June. Resolved that Mr Mackay's application bo considered, and the amount paid less reductions, on receipt of his rates.
