A special meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday. Present —Messrs 11. D. Dagg (chairman), T. Brown, W. B. Buick, and J. Stuckey, In reply to the Board, Mr Marcliant, Chief Surveyor, wrote, stating that section IY, Block X, Kopimrangi, appears to have been granted in 1868, Barton's line not being shown on the plan or excluded, as it was probably not laid oil at that time, or even thought of,

The Clerk was instructed to write to the Minister for Public Wot'ks®id ascertain if the road referred to in Marchant's letter had been gazetted; and wheu last money had been expended by the Provincial Government, It was also decided that a man be engaged on the Bluff road to do repairs. The Overseer's estimate for necessary works through the district was passed. The Overseer was also instated to interview Mr Breinner, and^j^particulars of road leading through Mr • Walloon's property, Upper Tauern. The Clerk was asked to'make up in tiuve for the next meeting of the Board an account of the exact financial position of each Ward, and also the position of the Board both as under the general rate and also under the Loan to Local Bodies Act.

A rate of seven-sixteentli3 of a penny in the £ was then struck for tho ensuing year and the meeting adjourned
