Wreck of the Sophia R. Luhrs.

Wellington, Wednesday

The Marine Department advise that on Monday evening, while the barque Sophia II Luhrs was entering Kaipara, she anchored in the channel, and apparently dragged her anchor, and went ashore on the North Spit at five o'clock on Tuesday night. It is doubtful if tlio vessel will get off again.

Fatal Accidents,

Dusedix, Wednesday

Charles, son of .James Fowler, of Mosgiel, aged 8 years, was killed yesterday, through his horse bolting, the boy hanging by tho foot from the stirrup.

John Man, 22 years old, was killci at Flag Swamp by falling under his dray in endeavoring to check his run away horses.
