Further investigations into the fire at De Carteret's hay loft, Papakura, show that the bones found in the debris were meat bones, not human. Road Board Petition, Pahiatua, Thursday. The petition against the Road Board election was thrown out yesterday, owing to three names on the petition not being those of electors. The chairman of the Board was ousted, owing to a written notice not having been given to members of the meeting at which he was elected. The feeling is very strong here against those who petitioned. The Board has decided to unanimously elect Mr Whitcombe as Chairman.
