THE EARTHQUAKE.
A shock of earthquake was felt in Masterton and the surrounding district at ten minutes paßfc two o'clock this morning. It was long sustained, rather than severe. Wellington, Thursday, lwo slight shocks of earthquake were felt this morning at 2.10 and G. 40; direction: north-west. Feildino, Thursday. A heavy earthquake was felt this morning at 2.10. No damage is reported. Woodville, Thursday. TIIO most violent earthquake experienced for years, occurred about ten minutes past two this morning. Two shocks .followed in rapid succession, accompanied by a loud noise.
