FORGERY AND UTTERING. Charles Hamilton ivas arraigned on a charge of having, on 2nd January, forged and uttered a cheque for £27 10s, purporting to be signed by Holmes Warren, of Masterton. The accused, for whom Mr Bunny appeared, pleaded guilty, Mr Bunny asked that the prisoner should be dealt with under the First Offenders Probation Act, He explained that the crime had been committed by the prisoner during a drinking bout. Mr Gully said the police had nothing against the prisoner previous to this, but he felt bound to point out to his Honor that the signature had been imitated with considerable skill. His Honor deferred sentence until Wednesday, agreeing to aet a report from the Probation Officer in the meantime. Wellington, Tuesday. Additional true bills have been found as under: John Oufcliberfc for larceny; George Patterson, robbery with violence; David Coldenvood and and John Astley, larceny. No bills were declared in the cases of John Henley and Robert McLarry, larceny. True bills have been found agaiust Reuben Hind for arson and breaking into, John Collins breaking into, Mong Chong and wife, murder; no bill against A. W. Blake and Henry Hambling for larceny. John Astley has been found guilty of larceny, and will be sentenced to-morrow,
