Melbourne, March 29. 4 decision delivered by the Appeal Court on the appeal of one of the female teachers, involves that provision must be made by the Education Department to pay from £IO,OOO to £15,000 accumulated increment salaries, principally those due to females. Adelaide, March 30. Owing to the presence of the Hessian fly in New Zealand, the local Agricultural Society are urging Ihu Government to prohibit the importation of hay from there into this colony. Melbourne, March 31. The revenue for the quarter ending to-day, foi* the first time in the history of the colony, exceeds £2,000,000, and a large surplus is expected. Railways, Customs, and Stamps show large increases.
