(Before S, Vo.v Siumikr, R.M.,) DRUNK. John Kenny was fined- 5s or six hours imprisonment for being drunk in tho public street. AUEGSD LABOENT. Ricljard Smith, alias John Hobba, was charged with larceny as a Bailieo of live horses and farming implements at Gore, Invercargill, on June sth, After a short adjournment Mr Beard, who in the meantime hud been instructed to appear for accused, stated that the police had received a telegram which convinced them that they had arrested the wrong man, and asked his Worship to disuiiss tho case. His Worship in discharging accused expressed regret that he should have been placed in such a position, but was convinced by the second tologram that a mistake had been made, CIVIL CASES, Judgments were given for. plaintiffs in the following cases;—G. Heron ,v W. Morrison, debt £i 17s 6d, costs 14s. D. Heggie vK. Robinson junr., debt &i 10s, costs 10s, Council v John Little arrears of rates. Price and Dickson v T. Joyce, Judgment summons, ordered to be paid by July Ist or 7 days imprisonment, ,
