Sydney,' February 15. The steamer Banger has been wrecked in Trial Bay, and the captain and the Engineer have been drowned, Melbourne, February IS. Mr Trotter, acting British Consul at Tonga, who is now on a visit to Australia, had an interview, yesterday, with the premier. He declared that the British residents at Tonga regard the situation there with much anxiety and urged that the Imperial Government should be asked to intervene with a view to a settlement of affairs.
