The ordinary monthly meeting was held oii Satnaday last, Present,— Messrs N, Grace, (in the dhair), H. E, Bunny, H. Braithwaifce, E. W. Dorset, W. Booth, W. Parker, I Bayuer, and J. Stevens. The minutes of the- Inst meeting were read and confirmed. Notices were received from several ratepayers thai they had disposed of their properties, and requesting that the alterations be made in the rate hook which was ordered to he done,' From Mrs Drake, asking that about twenty chains,of bush'falliugbo done to allow her to get her fences ereoted; left in the hands of the Warden to report at next meeting; From Colonial Secre-
tary re the late voting in respect to borrowing under the Local Bodies Loan Act, 1886; From Property Tax Department re thp levying of rates for 1886-7; From Secretary of the Grey, toivn Hospital asking the Board to. contribute to the same; the clerk: was instructed to inform them that the Board had no power to do so, Be the outlets on Park Rond, Mr H. fi! pense of thesHine be churged to No., 8 Ward for six Months. A letter was read from the Carterton Town Board asking this Board to join with tliKm in making Rutland road, and also in repairing Belvedere road. The. application was not acceeded to. A letter was read notifying that tho petition had>een sent to the Governor praying that the Carterton Town Board be declared a Borough. MrC. G-. Beckett wrote re advertising, asking for an increase of payment, Moved'by Mr H. R- Bunny, seconded by Mr H. Braithwaite, that the request be acceded to after the expiration of tkis quarter. A communication from Col. Treas. was read drawing attention to certain clausos in.tho Looal Bodies Borrowing Act, 1882, and re converting ;'the loans to the Local Bodies Loan Act, 1886, It was resolved that the loans be. transferred as proposed. , The matter of allocating the. road' man on the three acre reaefve, JSurinniorangij waa hit hi the hands of the wardens, MeEfcrß E B'. Bonny and N.Grace to deal with. ;
An application under the-slaughter-, bouse regulations was applied for by Mr G. W.,Deller and granted.... Tho following tenders was accepted: Gladstoneto Long.Bush, formation &c, Cephaßand Moaogham 15b 6d per chains; Hushes' Line, Cephas and Monagfaan 10s 6d per chain; Waterson's Hue, metalling, E. Butler, £'2 3s 6dppr chain; bush felling Chew St., R, M. Sayers £2 10s; wire fencing through Mr.Morgan's, R Morgau at 17s 6d per chain.
