MASTERTON ROAD BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting was held on Saturday. Present; Messrs W. H. Boetham (Chairman), Dagg, Johnston, and Welch. Rasmussen stating that ho failed to get the signatures expected to petition for borrowing; Rasmussen and Cole on a similar subject; Mauriceville Road Board re repairs to Jackson's Road between the main road and the boundary of the Mauriceville Road District; Commissioner of Crown Lands ro deferred payment thirds; Messrs Drummond und Campbell and others, requesting the Board to do something to the road leading from the Upper to the Lower Taueru; Mr J Montgomery, asking permission to erect a gate on a road atManaia, Resolved that the Matiriceville Board be iuformed that the repair on Jackson's road will receive consideration when the ratepayers interested in the Maatertou district take action in the matter; that the overseer examine and report on the application of Messrs Drummond Campbell and others; that Mr J. Montgomery's application be granted; that the' overseer expend £0 in repairing the Wairite road; that the owners of land'in the Te Whit! District be requested to inform the Board if they are willing-to give the land required for opening up a read from To Whit! to the Ruamahunga Bridge at Te Ore Ore; that the overseer leport through whose properties a road from Fernridgo to . Miki-miki wonld pass besides Mr Boathmley'e; that a cutting be made near Messrs McGregor's saw mill, Mr T, C. D'Arcy waited on the Board and asked that the road should be improved between iihe boundary of the Borougii and the Waingawa. The overseor was instructed to report on the same. - It was resolved in reply to the communication; from tho Colonial Treasury to point out that by retaining £46 65 6d due for subsidy ,as part payment of £17413s owing on de--bentures, the'accounts would be complicated and to submit that to facilitate a proper audit, the Treasurer ehould -paythe subsidy in full,, and allow the Board to remit the balance due on debentures, The overseer was instructed to attend to the application of Mr W. Harris for repairs to a road through his property at Opaki. Accounts amounting ty £164 lis lOd were passed for.payment.' "
