EKETAHUNA ROAD BOARD.

An ordinary meeting of this Board was held at the office of the Board oritlie IBfch insfc. Preßsnt Mesßrs Baylies (chairman), Anderson, Nilson, McDonald and Vinco. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Correspondence—lnwtirds.—From • the Treasury department, advising the Board of-the lodgment of £144 18s 5d in the Bank on its acoount, . From Commissioner of Crown Lands, informing- the' Board that vouchors for £235 16s 6d had been passed on to tho Treasury for' payment. From the Chief Surveyor, requesting the Board-to get the specifications signed by the contractor for the Mangaone Valley Road works. FromD; McLaohlan,, with .conditions for sale of site for new office. From Property Tax Commissioner, stating vouchers had been passed on to the Treasury for payment of 75 per cent, of subsidy, viz., £23 8s lid.

It was resolved that Mr Vince be appointed' inspector of the works on the I Mangaone Valley Boad, and Messrs j Baylies and Anderson were appointed to act with him in passing the work when completed. Messrs Vines, Nilson and McDonald: were appointed:a committee to •inspect the'finished portions of; the Mangaone; Valley road, and report to the Board on the culverts necessaiy to be laid. Messrs Bayliss and Anderson gave their report on the Hawera road, and it was resolved that' the works required there should be executed by day men with a working time-keeper. . Mr McDonald was taking steps, to see .to the removal of the piece of wire rope granted to the' County Council, from the Manawatu ferry to the Makakahi ford, The Clerk was instructed to prepare a list of tho names of all those persons who had not paid their rates for tho road district,. to be laid before the Board at to next meeting, The Treasurer reported,a credit balance of £B6 9s 9d, and accounts amounting to £ol4s 9d were passed for payment. Messrs Anderson and Vines wera appointed to sisfn cheques. The meeting then-adjourned.
