ALFREDTON ROAD BOARD.

A meeting of the Board was held on

Tuesday, the 7th hist., when the follow* ■• ing members were present—Messrs Good! (chairman), Smith, Marsh and Cross. Tho minutea of last mooting were read and confirmed, A report by the Works Committee wan adoDted, shewing that Thomas K. York's tender for bushfalling on the Tawatai* road, and George Saunders' for clearing the Tiraumea Distriot road, were accepted. It was resolved that consideration of. all correspondence and business not demanding immediate attention, be delayed till next meeting, a3 members wero in tho midst of shearing, and anxious to get away. From Frank White, suggesting that sohie money should be expended in extending York's contract for bushfalling. It was resolved, That tho money referred to would be raoro iudiciously expended in draining the road line on tho frontages of sections 7 and 45, Block VII, Mangaone, As suggested by Mr Henry Dunn, tenders to be called for, to olose in a fortnight.

From Mr. Benton, stating that th« t petitioners for a right of road to their J properties are prepared to coutributo £ls * towards the work.

It was rosolved to voto a similar mm on condition that the petitioners find the balance eithar in labor or money, to complete tho proposed work by joining the required road with Bowton's line.

Accounts amounting to £B9 13» 3d wore passed for payment. Mr Smith wa» appointed to luperintend and pass York's and Saunder's contraoti.

The first Tuenday.in January wm fixed for the next meetine.
