A meeijko of tho sbovo Guild wasMfcld, yestorday afternoon in St MattMu':;' schoolroom, tho following ladidi boinß •' present ;-Mesdames Boddington, Beetham, Freeth, Grundy, Gawith, E. Meredith, R. R, Meredith, Mcintosh, Mackfy, Nicol, Paige, Payton, Sellar and Von Stumor, Misses Beard, Keeling . and Smith. The churchwardens,' Messrs Gruudy and Nicol, were also proseiit. Mr Grundy in, opening the proceedings .., said he had been requested by Mug Beard ,' to lay before the meeting an account of / the doings of the Guild since its forma- • tion. He had to thank thorn for tho kind;]' and generous manner in which the forma- v 'tion of the Guild had been taken up. and : the appeal on behalf : of the parish responded to. He thought that now the ladies had set such a good examplo 'A raising the amount they .had, the mQmust go to work and see' if they could not do as well. Tne results of the Guild so far was, subscriptions £35, notbalancft from social gathering £l6. Ib, total £sl 11. He then gavo a short history of tho parish, for the past three years, and thought that although they were not making headway they were not going back. Referring to tho Bchool, he said the Vestry had torecognize.that the increased nuinbVr gk Sunday-school children required accotSfi modation, and the recent alterations mad*' had been undertaken on behalf of the: parish, by several members of the Church, who by taking up debentures relieved the parish of any present liabilities in connection with it. He thought that special thanks were due to Mrs Stratford ' for forming tho Guild, and the energetic: . : way she worked for its success. .Theamount raised by the Guild, was at the disposal of the meeting, who could d«YQtr

Mc- "•' "' Kenzis received special votes for assistance rendered. . Mr Giuiuly in acknowledging tho compliment said ho hoped tho Guild would continue its useful, work. Several mutters •in connection with the Churcli required urgent attention, and without their assistance ho did not see hoiv tho thin»s were to be carried out. ['' Itwas resolved unanimously to continuo tho Guild, and Mrs Froelli notified that anothor social evening would bo hold in about fchreo months time. Several minor matters were attended to and tho meotiiiß closed.
