Piper, was arraigned on a charge that he i did,'on the 20th September lost, enter .the; Empire Hotel, und steal therefrom sis coats, sis waistcoats, twelve pairs of tryuaera, and two suits of boys' clothes, the whole to the value of £8 9d, the property of Robert Sutherland.■ - r His Honor, in passilijr' sentence, said that prisoner seemed to hava entered on a course of crime which it was doubtful to say he would ever abandon. Prisoner was sentenced to two years' imprisonment with hard labor, in the Terrace Gaul.
