WOOL MEAT AND TALLOW.

The Now Zealand Luan and Mercantile Agency Co., Limited, have received the following telegram from their London office, dated 2nd inst, Wool—The fourth series of wool sales' closo to-day. As compared with the closing rate of the third sories, prices for the following descriptions have advanced as under Greasy meriuo, ljd to 2d-per lb; medium and inferior merino Id to lid per lb; combing (washed), 2d to 24* d per lb; I clothing (washed), lsd to 2d per lb; long staple merino (scoured), 2d to 2|d per lb; fine greasy crossbred, 2d to 2id per lb; cparse greasy crossbred, 2d per lb; fine washed crossbred, 2Jd to 3d per lb; fine scoured cross-bred, 2d to 2ld per lb; coarse scoured orossbred, Id to l|d per lb; greasy merino lambs Id per lb ; greasy cross-bred lambs, 2d per lb. A good mauy second-hand parcels have been offered during the past sales. The total quantity sold during-the series is 266,000 bales. Seven thousand bales have been held over for future disposal, and 112,000 bales takon for the Continent. Tallow.—Market firmer, and there is a good Continental demand for lower and medium sorts. Frozen meatArrivals are in excess. of trade requirements, and the market consequently is weak. The demand is not likely to improve for some time to come, New Zealand mjitton, weighing per carcase 651b to 751b, iB worth 4sd per lb ; New Zealand beef is worth per lb.
