Pytney, September 9. At the Sydney meat market, beef realised 36s per IOOIbs, mutton averaging 2|cl per lb.

The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company (Limited) have received the following telegram from their London office, dated 7th inat:— Wool.—The sales opened to-day at an average advance of about I£J pur cent, oti last sales' closing rates. The attendance of both Home and foreign buyers is good, and tho competition is active. Tho opening catalogue 13,000 bales. The sales comprise about 325,000 bales, 45,000 bales have been sent to the manufacturing dis tricta direct. Wheat.—The crop here is estimated to yiold 7,500,000 quarters, Hops. The yield hero is reported to be exceptionally good, and the crop is estimated at 700,000cwt, Messrs Murray Roberts and Co, have received the following cable message from their London friends, Messas Sanderson Murray and Co. Sales have opened with a very large attendance of buyers, Merino lias advanced 20 per cent,, fine crossbred 15 per cent, and coarse crossbred 10 percent.
