Auckland, September 10, Lake Rotorua has risen alarmingly, owing to tho heavy rainfall, and owing to this and tho fact that the outlet is dammed up by the late volcanic disturbances, the houses along the foroshore aro now rendered uninhabitable. Tho Maori burial ground on the Muruika Point lias been submerged, and several coffins with bodies havo floated out into the lako. Tho Nativos are removing the other bodies to a fresh burying place. The now church on the point is in danger from tlio flood. The Government is blamed for not ordering the cutting of a new outlot for tho waters of the lake.
