Rioting continues in Belfast, oonfliota between the mob and the police being of a fioroe charaoter, further reinforcements'of one thousand troops''have Arrived in town, Martial law has beon proclaimed in Belfast and district. The rowing match between Beach, of Sydney, and Wallace Ross, of America, for the sculling championship and £IOOO takes place on Saturday, September 25th. THE WAIRARAPA RABBIT ASSOCIATION. a ■ Thb Committee of the above Association met on Mouday evening at 8 p.m. at the Farmer's Club, Preient—Messrs R. Maunßell (in the Chair) Hawkins, Beetham, Whatman, Hord, Holmes, and R. Meredith. The minutes of tho provious meeting wore read and confirmed. The Treasurer reported having paid 35s Into the Bank of New Zealand and paid Meßsrs Smith and Hogg £4 4s. , An account of 13s Gd from J. Payton and Co. was presented and passed for payment. _ The following guaranteos of subacriptious to tho Association wore roooived— H. Elder £IOO, R. and F. Maunsell £IOO, Hawkins and Tancred LIOO, Beetham Bros., Brancepeth, LBO, Beetliam Bros., Annedale, LSO, John Morrison L3O, Trustees Kahuiningi LSO, Messrs J. and H. Holmes L 25, Hood and Walker L 25, Whatman Bros., Lls, Adam Grant LlO, John Cross, L 5, John Cross L 4, James Miller L 4, Thomas Connell L2. Total £584, and at least £SOO more could bo relied upon. , It was resolved "That the Chairman interview Superintoudant-Inspeotor Bayley and try and arrange with Government for the importation of 300 stoats and weasels." and if possible 75 per cent to be stoats.
