As the Carterton Club are unable to play a match with the first fifteen of Masterton on Saturday next a scratch match will be played among the members of the Maßterton Club on that day. In view of the approaching matches with' Wellington and Sydney, members aria requested to roll up, as trial representative matches will be arranged at an early date, From a private letter from Sydney, the Dunedin Daily News learns that Olem. Beck, lato of the Monteojllo jootbal! Club, and an interprovin'cial player, is likely to visit New Zealand as a member of the New South v7ales : team. The writer, who is an old Dunedin footballer, states that the Rugby game is played much rougher in Sydney than in Dunedin.
