Manaia, this day,
Sergfc Anderson and Constable Franklin arrested eight natives'"to-day on a charge of stealing pigs from the property of Walter Stoddart in the bush about six miles from Manaia. None of the prisoners made any reference to Te Whiti or Tito Kowaru. The natives had sheath knives and a gun, but offered no resistance when arrested. The police will-apply for a remand until Thursday.
