(United Press Association.) Gheistchtjkch,'this day. Alex. McPhail was committed for trial for stealing valuable books and other articles worth £3O in all. - Auckland, This day. Three men, Alfred Watt, John Connell, and Frederick Frouien, were .committed' for .trial for safe robbery from an .ironmonger's .shop. . Pat Ryan on the same charge was acquitted. The schooner Waiapu from Gisborne lost one of her crew, a seaman, named William Barr in a gale off White Island, Bay of Plenty, on Wednesday.
