The Volcanic Disturbance.

United Press Association. ' Rotokua, this day. Mr Mcßae has received a telegram from Auckland stating his case respecting insurance of the Wairo'a Hotel would . be considered at the meeting of the Directors of the Union Insurance Company, though possibly no concessions will be made for loss by. volcanic eruptions- ,as forming a precedent." The residents sympathise with Mr Mcßae in his losses and would be glad to see some consideration extended to him in recognition of public service he has rendered. There has been a somewhat sharp shock ot earthquake, and earth tremors are almost continuous. There is ,no further intelligence from Orakeikorako. A. party went out to Rotomahana, and Mr Dansey officer of the telegraph station at Rotorua, who went reports that the mud is hardening like . cement. He took horses to within two miles of the back of the Pink Terraces and got up easily. He believes the volcanoes are exhausting themselves, and that in a week or two.visitors will "be able to go dowu to Rotomahana and inspect the fumeroles. Only steam is being thrown up. . The volcanoes, had formed cones, and there was water or liquid mud' around.

A suggestion has been made that the Government'should make a'seriesof small experiments with seed on the sand ;or mud on the different blocks in order to save settlers and native's alike from throwing time and labor away. The Maori woman, wife of Eru Hone, of Tuhourangi, survivor, died... from nervous shock and exposure on the morning of the eruption. She had been previously in Rotorua Hospital for chest complaint. Some half a dozen others are ill from the shock.
