PAHIATUA ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary general meeting of the above Board wan held on Saturday last, Present—Messrs D. Crewe (chairman), J, Moore, W. Oorbetfc, and W. Wakeman. The minutes of the last ordinary and special meetings were read and confirmed, Correspondence, outwards, was read to Minister of Lands re road to Palmerston North, j to the Wuirarapa East County Council re moneydue for road reserves; to Colonial Secretary with names of new Board. Inwards—from R. H, Rhodes r» deviation on Toritea-Puketoi road; from Wairarapa East County Council, circular re rates; from Mr Armstrong, Palmerston North, offering to do engineering and supervision of road works on reasonable terms; from Messrs Ffaae'rand Macdonald on the same subject, The Overseer's report was read and adopted. ',"
The following resolutions were carried; —That, the Clerk write to tho Masterton Road Board calling th«ir attention to their promise re the £IOO award, and stating that if the money is not paid forthwith together with current rate of interest from the time"" the deed was signed that proceedings will be taken to recover the same. That letters be written to Measn Armstrong and Eraser and Mcdonald stating that when the Board require an engineer, they will be communicated with on the matter. That the Survey Department be asked to supply this Board with a skeleton map on an enlarged scale, showing all the roads in the district. That a requisition be sent in for £SOO on accouiit of loan. That a lamp and a tin of oil be obtained for use of office.
Accounts amounting to £268 12s 6d were passed for payment.
