PAHIATUA.

A meeting was held on Friday evening at Mr Miller's shop, when about thirty people were present to consider offers''of a site for a town hall, Mr McCardle was voted to the chair,
'-..After considering the various sites under offer it was decided to accept the offer made by Mr D. Pickering of a half iacreon thecorner of the Mangatainpke .and main roads. It was also resolved that a Company be formed, to be called the "Pahiatua Town Hall Company," jwith a capital of £IOOO, in .£1 shares, kinder the Joint Stock Company Act. A list of intending shareholders was takon, and 264 shares were applied for. The intending shareholders then- elected a provisional directory of 11—5' to form a quorum. The following eentlemen were then chosen :—Messrs Reese, Miller McCardle, Crimp, H. Sedcole,, King, Crewe, Najlbr, Gregory, Bimie, and Boydon, It was further resolved that Mr A. W, Sedcole be Secretary) and Treasurer. The Directors agreed to meet on
