He denies the existence of any such scheme as that attributed to him by the writer of the article, and disavows any intention of acting in the manner indicated therein. Mr Gladstone takes the opportunity of stating that announcements in newspapers at present relative to the line of policy lie has determined to adopt are mere conjecture,'ap ho has not yet made known his intentions to anyone.
