While the Gas Inspector was inspecting the meter at the United Methodist Free Ohurch to-day with a match, to discover a leak, the gas exploded, Betting fire to the building. The Brigade suppressed the fire, damage being done to the extent of £lO.

Colonel. Lyon severely censured the Auckland Coastguards last night for their conduct in a tramcar while returning from the church parade at Onehunga last Sunday.
