MASTERTON FARMERS' CLUB.
The annual mooting of the Club was held on Saturday last, the President, .Mr R, D, Dagg, in. the chair.
A letter was read from Mr H, Elder, intimatim; that he desired to become a. member of the Club, and also of the proposed Agricultural and Pastoral Society. Also from Mr F, H. Wood, re the use of his yards for show purposes. The balance sheet for the past year was read, showing receipts £64 14s, and
expenditure'. £59 4s sd, leaving a credit balance of £5,9s . Messrs W. loraa and H. Mo \rdle were elected members. ;
The. following officers were elected for the ensuing year President, Mr T. E, Chamberlain; Vice-President, Mr John Hessey; Committee, Messrs D. Biiick, R. Welch, D. Carman, R. D. Dag)?, D. Guild, B, P. Perry, E. Meredith, and H. Williams [ Auditor, Mr J. Brown; Secre ; tary and Treasurer, Mr R. J. Fitton. The following new members were proposed Messi'3 G, Moore, T. A. Lyons, R, M. Galloway, and H. Elder. :
It was resolved that the rules of the Society be printed and circulated amongst the members. That all members of the Farmers' Club be particularly requested to attend the adjourned meeting of the proposed Pastoral and Agricultural 'Society on Wednesday, 9th September. Mr D. Guild moved, and Mr Caselberg seconded, that a heaity vote of thanks be accorded to the retiring officers, coupled with the name of Mr R. Brown, for the success that the Society had achieved during its first year of existence. Carried unanimously, ' MrR. D. Dagg, the retiring President, replied on behalf of the Committee in suitable terms. The Secretary reported the numbor of members on the roll to be sixty-Beven, This concluded the business.
