MASTERTON ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Masterton Road Board was held on Saturday afternoon. Present: Messrs (chairman) Meredith, Johnston, Guuderseh and Chamberlain. The minutes of the previous meeting wore read and confirmed. The following correspondence was read; From ratepayers in the No. 5 'subdivision (East Coast) praying to be constituted a separate sub-division, From ratepayers in No, 5 sub-division asking the warden that the resolution regarding the diviation of the road ' along the Patanui be rescinded, FromMr W; Jessen, askingfor a further grant .for the improvement of the Mauriceville load. From Mr M. Dowling claiming £ll lis, said to be owing for wages seven years ago. From the Cheif Surveyor authorizing Mr A, J, Rawson to lay off a road through section 813, Block 111, Kaiwhata. From Mr L. N. Donovan, asking that the road leading to his property might be cleared. The following resolutions wero passed That the claim of Mr M. Dowling be not entertained. That Mr Donovan's application be. not acceded to, That Mr.W. Jessen's suggestion be not agreed to, ■ ' That the overseer be instructed to take steps to make the necessary additions to the Miki-Miki bridge, That the petition from ratepayers in No. (j subdivision stand over till next meoting. ' ■
Mr H. Dudding waited on the Board, and asked that a road to his property at Wildfell might be improved. It was resolved that the Overseer inspect the road and report to a committee consisting of Messrs Johnston, Beetham and Dagg on Wednesday noxfc. The tender of Mr Thos Hitchings for fencing at the Uriti road at 30s per chain wns accepted, the distance to be 60 chains. Accounts amounting to £149 were authorised to be paid, The meeting then adjourned.
