(Prom Our o\yn Correspondent) At the last meeting of the Harbor Board, the Engineer reported that during the past five weeks, 83 concrete blocks had been made, containing 1076 cubic yards, at (. cost of £llß2 5s 7d. In this work 1030 casks of cement had been used, costing £798 ss, Ho also reported he had surveyed a rock called the " Firling Rock," and put a drive m it, with tlio intention of blasting down a quantity of stone for use during the summer months. The report was considered very satisfactory by the members. During the progressof the meeting, the question of voting a sum of money towards the formation of a new street from the centre of the town to the railway station was brought up, The proposed street will run through the Harbor Reserves, and thus increase their value considerably, After discussion, the Board decided to appoint a committee of three memhers, with power to expend a sum not exceeding £3OO on the work. The several other local bodies of the town will probably also vote a sum of money for this • work, representations having been made to each about the matter,
