London, June 20, News from Port Said states that a hitch has occurred in the works for the removal of tho obstruction in tho Suez' Canal, which threatens .to seriously delay the ( reopening of the channel. Over a hundred steamers are already blocked waiting to pass the Canal homewards or outwards, London, June 19. The tenders for the Western Australian loan of £5,000,000 were opened to-day. The total amount applied for was £457,500 the average being £9B 2s 6d. The unallotted balance will be placed at the minimum price of £97105, London, June 20. It is announced that Sir Stafford Northcote takes the position of First' Lord of the Treasury, and not Lord Salisbury, as previously telegraphed. The Premiership, however, will not be combined witli this offico, as is usual, but will be assumed by the Marquis of Salisbury,-

The request made by Lord Salisbury that the Liberal party should give him an assurance of support in carrying on the business of the country, has not been acceeded to.
Parliament re-assembled yesterday after adjournment. Thelatp Ministry have not as yet vacated the Treasury Benches, and the position of the Liberal and Conservative members respectively in the House is unchanged at present, London,, Juno 20th, In the House of Commons I'lr Gladstone moved that the House be further adjourned until Tuesday next, whioli was agreed to, .
In the Houije of Lords, Lord Salisbury also moved a similar adjournment, as he was not yet able to make his promised statement to the House. Beferring to the Redistribution of Seats Bill, Lord Salisbury stated that the Government objected to its being..proceeded with, because its passing would prevent a dissolution before November. The motion to postpone the consideration of tho measure was subsequently carried by a large majority. . June 21st. The political deadlock still continues, Lord Salisbury demanding to monopolise tj}e louse ptil the prorogation of Parliament, anc} als,q insisting that the Liberal party shall forebear fronj attacking the Budget proposals, Madrid, June 20, Cholera continues to increase rapidly in the South-East of the country, During tho past fow days, there were no less than 2000 cases, 800 of which proved fatally,' roported from the provinces of Valensia, Castellon, de La Plana, and Murcia. A few deaths have occurred in this city, and very goneral feeling of alarm prevails.
