(Uxited Press Association) THE CUSTOMS REVENUE OF THE COLONY, Wellington, This Day, The Custom's revenue oolleoted iri' the colony for March amounted to £137,302 as against £115,799 for the corresponding month last year, The amounts collected at the principal ports last month were, Auckland, 18,524 j Wellington, 25,298; Lyttelton and Christchurch 22,672; Dunedin, 37,812, The total amount of customs revenue collected for the- year is £1,413.937, being a surplus of 38,937 over the Colonial Treasurer's estimate. The Beer duty collected last month was £4919; for March 1884, it was 4742. The total for the year was £55,714, being a surplus of £714 over the estimate, Palmerston Nora, this day Tlios Cooper, a resident of Stoney Creek, accidentally shot himself dead this morning while out duck shooting. The contents oi the gun entered his left side, and. death was almost instantaneous, He wasinsured in the Government, Mutual and Accident Companies for a total of four thousand one hundred pounds.
