After a short spell the riflemen went for the second innings, and put ■ together the respectable total of 88, A. Minifie again making a good stand and contributing 38. E. Welch also got into double figures with 13 to his credit. With 124 to get to win the firemen. went for their second attempt, with but a faint prospect of getting the required number, and they did not succeed in getting half the required total. W.
