WAR IN THE SOUDAN.

London, February 9, It is announced that the following reinforcements have been ordered to Egypt: —The 20th Hussars and three battalions of Guards from England, four battalions of infantry from Malta and Gibraltar, and two battalions of infantry and a cavalry regiment from India.
The three battalions of Guards under orders to proceed to the Soudan will embaric at Portsmouth to Souakim direct on Saturday next.
It is stated that COO men of the Canadian Militia are coming to, England to do garrison duty in. place' of the troops that are being despatched to Egypt,
Cairo, February 9, News is to hand from Korti thata British convoy was recently attacked near Gakdul by a body of rebels numbering over 1000. Heavy fighting took place, with the result that the rebels were repulsed after a shelling from the British guns. Rome, February 9.
The Italian Government has decided that, if requestod, assistance shall be afforded to England in the .operations against the Mahdi. Cairo, February 10.
