Very little work was done at Island Bay this njorning. Sou-Wester did the Gold Cup dis'tansQ at ft nice pipe-opening pace, going strongly and finishing as if he enjoyed the spin, Ugly Buck did a little over a mile and a half at nearly top speed, going in a very resolute style, Black Rose and Clogs walked for fully two hours, but did nothing more. Macaroni cantered a couple of miles. Tho New Plymouth horses Normanby, Okato, ai\d Wideawake arrived to-day, The racehorses Fusilier, Lady Evelyn, Talebearer, and' RalLy (late Whitbach), arrived from South this niqrning,
