WASTE LANDS BOARD.

The ordinary fortnightly meeting of the Waste Lands Board was held yesterday morning. Present—Messrs Bunny fin the chair), Mason, Beetham, McCardle, and Fitzherbert. An application was received from Mr H.' Shormann, asking permission to take up Section I, 'Block. X„ Mangaone, at present open foi; sale.for cash, on deferred payments. ' Resolved to inform Mr Shormann that the section will be included in' the leasehold and deferred payment sections about to be offered for sale. : '

A report was read 'from Mr Amiebell, assistant surveyor, re Mr Poison's anpljqfc fan/to purchase certain.Grown Lands, adjoining his property itiithe Parahetko Block, in order to give hint a fonolnglino. —lt was resolved to lay off the land' applied for at Mr Poison's expense and sell it to him at a price to bo fixed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands and the Ranger. A memo was read from the UnderSecretary of Crown Lands, stating that the suggestion qf th.e Land, Board that the plan? of proposal for' gpening up Crown Lands should be submitted to the Land Board would reoelve the consideration of the Government, It was resolved that as Mr Ballanco was leaving town immediately, the deputation it was decided last meeting should waite upon that Minister should postpone doing so till after his return. The question of expending £8275 for opening up roads in' certain blocks was again brought before tho Board. It was resolved on the motion of Mr McCardle, no tenders for the work be opened till next meeting of the Board.
