The total reserve in the Bank of England in notes and bullion is £13,200,090, a decrease of £300,000 during the week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities has advanced from 42 per cent, to 45 per cent since last Thursday. The bank rate of discount remains at 2 per cent,, and the market rate at If. The markets for colonial produce are unchanged. Sydney, September 26. The railway returns for this colony show a net profit at the rate of 4A per cent, upon the capital invested. Cairo, September 25. A protest against the violation of the Law of Liquidation by the Egyptian Government was to-day presented by the members of the International Commission to Nubar Pasha, All the representatives of the Signatory Powers, except Italy, took part in the protest.

The cholera epidemic continues to maintain its deadly character in Southem Europe, At Genoa seventy cases occurred yesterday, and at Naples fifty deaths from the disease are reported daily. No extensive outbreak has yet occurred in Spain, and the mortality from cholera is said to be moderate, A slight revival of the epidemic has taken place at Toulon during the past few days,
